Payment Protection

Your unexpected accident, disability or death can affect your household's income level and change your family's standard of living in an instant. Three forms of optional coverage are available for qualified members:

    1.  Credit Life Insurance

• A voluntary form of payment protection designed to pay off an outstanding loan balance in the event a covered member dies before the loan is repaid, up to policy maximum.
• Allows your other life insurance policies to pay what you intended them to pay.
• Single and Joint coverage available.

    2.  Credit Disability Insurance

• A voluntary form of payment protection designed to make a member's monthly insured loan payment, up to the policy maximum, should they become totally disabled due to a medically determined sickness or injury and are unable to work.
• Helps prevent unforeseen circumstances from changing your financial flexibility.
• Single and Joint coverage available.

    3.  Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) with Plus Protection

• If your vehicle is stolen, accidentally damaged beyond repair, or otherwise declared a total loss, primary auto insurance will likely cover the replacement value.  If this value is less than what is owed on the vehicle, you are still obligated to repay the remaining loan balance... GAP with Plus Protection will help cancel the remaining balance.
• GAP with Plus Protection will also cancel the first $1,000 towards your replacement vehicle loan financed with MEFCU; within 60 days of primary auto insurance settlement.

Protection that pays.

Your purchase of credit life and credit disability insurance, underwritten by CUNA Mutual Insurance Society, is optional and will not affect your application for credit or the terms of any credit agreement required to obtain a loan.  Certain eligibility requirements, conditions, and exclusions may apply.  Please contact your loan representative, or refer to the Policy Agreement for a full explanation of the terms. 

Your purchase of MEMBER’S CHOICE^TM Guaranteed Asset Protection is optional and will not affect your application for credit or the terms of any credit agreement required to obtain a loan.  Certain eligibility requirements, conditions, and exclusions may apply.  Please contact your loan representative, or refer to the Member Agreement for a full explanation of the terms of MEMBER’S CHOICE Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP).  If you choose GAP, adding the product fee to your loan amount will increase the cost of GAP.
